Whether they were in New York City or Lima, Ohio, our favorite Gleeks were feeling the pressure!

After Marley (Melissa Benoist) fainting during New Directions' first number at Sectionals at the end of last week's episode, Glee's Dec. 6 episode, "Swan Song," picked up right where we left off: With total chaos. Was New Directions able to pull it together and prove that the show must go on...even if your female lead can't?

In New York, Rachel (Lea Michele) was determined to accomplish something no NYADA freshman has ever accomplished, while Kurt (Chris Colfer) was given a second chance to land a spot in the school. Did the NYC BFFs succeed? And which two glee club members are officially an item?! Find out...

Houston, We've Got a Problem: Oh, you thought New Directions would pull a miraculous comeback and win Sectionals? Wrong! They don't even get a chance to get back on the stage as Sue (Jane Lynch) smugly informs them that the judges already selected the Warblers as the winner. Season. Over.

The next day, Sue is already taking over the choir room, a demolishing sanctioned by Principal Figgins. Post-debacle, the glee club has nowhere to practice. "The New Directions are finished," Sue says. "Inform your students that the glee club is over for the year." Finn breaks the bad news to the club (minus Sugar, who has already bailed), using the holiday concert at the end of the week as the silver lining and saying they can make a comeback next year. But Sam (Chord Overstreet) raises an excellent point: "What about those of us who don't have a next year?" (FYI, the camera cut to Sam, Blaine, Tina and Artie.)

The club is quick to move on: Tina (Jenna Uskhowitz) and Blaine (Darren Criss) join the Cheerios, Artie (Kevin McHale) joins the marching band, Unique (Alex Newell) is now playing hockey, Joe (Samuel Larsen) is now playing interfaith paintball and Jake (Jacob Artist) and Ryder (Blake Jenner) joined the basketball team. The only person not willing to give up on the club just yet? Finn, who isn't ready to give up, thanks to a pep talk from Rachel (via phone call). "Don't let them give up on their dreams," she says, reminding him of everything glee gave them other than trophies, like the friendships and romances. Taking a move from The Breakfast Club (writing an impassioned letter/email), New Directions reunites for an inspiring rendition of "Don't Dream It's Over." But what's next for the club? Only time will tell...

A New Couple Emerges: Out of the glee club ashes rises…Samittany?! After a few episodes of mild flirtation, Sam confesses to Brittany (Heather Morris), "I'm totally into you. You're the only person who really understands me."  Her response? "You're pretty awesome." Sam then says he's most bummed about glee club ending because he wants to do a ballad with her. Awww!

After their sweet rendition of "Something Stupid," Sam tries to land his something stupid: A kiss! Alas, Brittany gently turns him down as she's afraid of what "all the lesbians of the nation" (cough, Brittana fans, cough) would do to Sam because they love Santana (Naya Rivera). "I'm nervous they'd turn on you and get really violent and hurt your beautiful face and mouth," she explains. However, after Finn's speech about "last chances," Brittany decides to face the "angry lesbian bloggers" and asks Sam out on a date. "You make me happy," she tells him before their first kiss!

Just the Ticket: Though she received one of the coveted 10 golden tickets to perform at NYADA's winter showcase, Rachel still has to deal with Cassandra's (Kate Hudson) wrath. After a fight during class, during which Rachel says that Cassie just doesn't see how good she's become, a Chicago dance-off ensues. After their heated battle, Rachel admits she's not as good of a dancer as Cassie, but says she's a better singer. "The only way I'm going to win this showcase is with my voice."

"If you give me a stage to sing on, I know in my gut that no one can beat me," Rachel tells Brody (Dean Geyer) before she performs…and plants a kiss on him. (We're loving this strong, confident, sexy version of Rachel, aren't you?!) Donning a gorge white gown, Rachel belts "Being Good Isn't Good Enough," and it's good. So good in fact she receives a standing ovation and a Tibideaux-sanctioned encore performance. "That was wonderful. No, that was superb," Tibideaux gushes after Rachel's second standing ovation. (She also received a standing ovation from us at home. Seriously, we were on our feet!) And guess what? Rachel is the first freshman to ever win the showcase!

All on the Line: Kurt decides it's time to put up or shut up when it comes to getting into NYADA. We learn that he re-applied with an acoustic version of Wham's "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go," which Tibideaux says was all surface when they are looking for soul from their students. While she calls Kurt "Very talented," she says his auditions were "void of complexity and depth." Thankfully, Tibideaux decides to give Kurt a second chance at the winter showcase...at said showcase! After a mini-freakout and support from Rachel, Kurt decides to do "Being Alive," with no bells, whistles or "gold lamé pants."

And guess what? Kurt doesn't need anything but that amazing voice, which his performance proves. He earns a standing ovation from the room, including Tibideaux. His performance was emotional and heartrending, and yes, we were totally crying (from pride)! And the tears kept on flowin' after Kurt learned he was accepted and will be attending NYADA in the spring!

What did you think of tonight's episode? Were you shocked to see New Directions lose so quickly? Did you cry when Kurt got accepted? How do you feel about Sam and Brittany as a couple? Sound off in the comments!
