Though talks were rumored to be on the rocks, Britney Spears looks to be Sin City-bound after all.

E! News has learned the pop superstar is this close to finalizing an agreement to play a series of gigs at a major Las Vegas hotel owned by Caesars Entertainment Group.

"We are in deep negotiations and I'd be shocked if it didn't happen. Hoping to have a deal done very soon," said Spears' manager, Larry Rudolph, in a statement obtained by E! News.

The Caesars Entertainment Group also confirmed the negotiation. A spokesperson tells E!, "Caesars Entertainment is continuously working to redefine the Las Vegas entertainment landscape. As a pioneer of the modern Las Vegas headlining residency model, Caesars Entertainment regularly engages in conversations with today's top artists to perform at any number of our Las Vegas resorts. We can now confirm the company is actively engaged in discussions with Britney Spears' representatives regarding a potential headlining residency at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. No further statement will be made at this time."

The good word comes after stories surfaced earlier this week that the 31-year-old "Circus" singer wouldn't be doing the shows due to various issues.

Of course, Britney's camp still has to iron out the remaining details on her payday which E! News previously estimated could be worth well over $100 million for a three-year commitment—on par with such Vegas mainstays as Celine Dion among others.

For her part, Spears herself hinted that a deal was near, tweeting "I don't think so honey #VivaLasVegas : )" after retweeting a post by her curious pooch Hanna which read, "Mommy, are dogs allowed to gamble in Vegas? Gonna cash all my bones in for chips."
