Heath Ledger T-Shirts on Sale for Charity, First Product Late Actor's Family Has Approved

Actor's sister has designed a commemorative tee featuring a photo of the late Aussie in eternally cool skater mode, taken by Naomi Watts' brother, Ben

Here's a chance for Heath Ledger to touch a new generation—and cover the torsos of the fans he left behind.

Five years after his death, the Oscar-winning actor's sister Elana Rosa has teamed with Naomi Watts' photographer brother Ben to create a commemorative T-shirt for charity, the first Ledger product to be sold with the approval of both his estate and family.

The tee features a photo—taken by Ben Watts in 2004—of the Australian thesp in chill skater mode in Los Angeles. That was right around the time Ledger was shooting the based-on-a-true-story skateboarding movie Lords of Dogtown.

"Heath loved skateboarding and wanted to do a shoot he enjoyed," Watts recalled to Reuters about the day he took the picture, calling it "a really enjoyable day and definitely one to remember. At one stage we were towing him with a car going like 40 miles per hour through the L.A. River, it was amazing."

The limited-edition tees are selling online for $110 apiece, with all proceeds going to benefit a scholarship fund set up in Ledger's name as well as his favorite charities.
