Here's something we didn't even know that we wanted until we got it: Molly Ringwald, she of The Breakfast Club fame, has covered the film's theme song, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" (originally by Simple Minds).
On her just-released jazz album, Except Sometimes, Claire Standish herself puts a new spin on the infamously catchy song. And the snippet floating around the Internet is quite nice!
"When I recorded the album...it was really soon after John Hughes passed away. And he was in my mind a lot," Ringwald told Vulture when asked why she decided to record the track. "And, I don't know, I felt like I wanted to sing a tribute to him. And also, I wanted to incorporate who I was into who I am."
