Forget an arrow straight to his gut. It was more like a knife.

Colin Donnell, one of the stars of the CW's superhero action-adventure series Arrow, is recovering at home after undergoing an emergency appendectomy earlier this week in a Northern California hospital.

But not before giving his Twitter followers a full update.

"Home today thanks to the amazing staff of Queen of the Valley Hospital! After #Arrow Appendectomy," the 30-year-old actor tweeted Tuesday, along with a link to a goofy picture of himself in sickbay which he posted on Instagram.

Despite his ailment, Donnell managed to give a shout-out to his Arrow colleagues and fans and thanked them for their support.

"Even an Emergency Appendectomy can't dampen my spirits about there being all new #Arrow for y'all tonight. Thanks for all the well-wishes!" he wrote.

He also thanked the CW brass for sending "delicious get well milk & cookies" and the show writers "for my lovely get well flowers, I wasn't expecting the typo on the card though…KIDDING! Thank you!"

What a joker. We're glad to hear Colin's feeling better.
