Ring the weirdest casting news ever bell because we have a winner!

Diddy is set to join PBS' hit period drama Downton Abbey as a series regular in season four...according to Diddy.  "MY BIG NEWS: So happy to announce that I'm a series regular on DOWNTON ABBEY-my favorite show+i'll be debuting a sneak peek tonight 12am PST!" Diddy tweeted on Wednesday after posting earlier that he had a big announcement to share.

One problem? PBS denies Diddy's casting claim, telling  E! News that it's "simply not true." So no, Diddy will not be romancing Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery), folks!

"I have  to admit that Downton Abbey is one of my favorite shows,"  the rapper, who changed his background and user picture to Downton Abbey promotional iimages, tweeted. "And that's why I'm so excited today."

So while he may not be joining the show, we're pretty sure super-fan Diddy will be tuning in when Downton Abbey returns for its fourth season on Sunday, Jan. 5.

Two new actors who definitely will be joining the PBS hit? The series will introduce Gary Carr, who will play the series' first recurring black character, and Tom Cullen as a potential love interest for Lady Mary
