The cause of death for Cory Monteith will be announced sooner than usual.

A Vancouver Police Dept. source tells E! News that the Glee star's case has been put on the fast track and the results of the autopsy will be revealed early this week.

"Due to the intense public interest, the toxicology will be expedited," says the source, adding that the results are expected to come in "in 2 or 3 days."

A spokesman for the Vancouver Police Dept. couldn't confirm exactly what day the autopsy results would be disclosed, but did confirm that Monteith's body is currently at the city morgue.

Additionally, E! News learns that they have talked to the late actor's family about what they will do with the body after the autopsy is completed.

Acting Vancouver Police Chief Doug LaPard confirmed that Monteith was found dead at the Fairmont Pacific Hotel after missing his check-out time on Saturday.

According to LaPard, there were no indications of foul play and they are not discussing what was found in the room. The cause of death was not immediately apparent.

A rep for Monteith tells E! News: "We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss."

A statement also was sent out on behalf of  Glee executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company: "We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously.  Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones."
