The always adorkable Justin Long is coming back to TV this fall, but this time he's not taking a trip to the New Girl loft!

Long will be romancing America's favorite quirky blonde, Anna Faris, in Mom, the new CBS comedy, creator and TV powerhouse Chuck Lorre revealed at Monday's Summer TCA press tour. But that's not the only big guest star this new show has snagged!

Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer will also be appearing alongside Faris, Allison Janney and the red of the comedy-inclined cast a few weeks after the show premieres on Monday, Sept. 23.

Faris stars in Mom as Christy, a newly sober single mom who is trying pull her life together and mend her relationships with her rambunctious kids and crazy off-the-wall mother. Although this is Faris' first starring role on television, we'll never forget her time on Friends as the mother of Monica and Chandler's twins. Ahh, memories!

Fans fell in love with Long when he cozied up to Zoey Deschanel in the first season of New Girl, but now it looks like Faris will be graced with all that easy-going charm. Long will be coming onto the comedy within the first few episodes as a new love interest for Christy.

Creator Lorre says that although they're "really excited" to have Long on the show, his character should be prepared for a rough ride ahead. "Poor bastard doesn't know what he's in for," he laughs. "But he is going to be her first shot at a meaningful relationship in this new chapter in her life."

Later in the season, Spencer will be popping up as a unique character that's unlike anything we've ever seen from the actress. Lorre explains, "Octavia is coming to the show as well in the fourth or fifth episode. She's playing a woman who it turns out has bigger problems than Christy so that Christy gets some perspective."

Following the end of the panel, Spencer quickly tweeted that she can't wait for fans to see her on Mom, writing: "Faris, Janney & entire cast R brilliant. Writing, brilliant. I had Lorre in a bear hug til he promised he'd put me on! #Mom."

Don't miss the series premiere of Mom, Monday, Sept. 23 at 9 PM on CBS
