Friends don't let friends do friends.

New Girl returns for its highly anticipated third season on Sept. 17, and the loft is heading into unknown territory as two roommates are now officially dating. Yes, Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) defied the laws of will-they-or-won't-they TV couples when they decided to go all-in in the season-two finale and will kick off season three as a full-fledged couple, which should illicit some awesome reactions of their fellow loft-dwellers Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Winston (Lamorne Morris), as well as Jess' BFF Cece (Hannah Simone).

We've got your exclusive first look at the Fox hit sitcom's fancy new moving poster (How very Harry Potter of them!), which features the whole gang interrupting Nick and Jess' couple time. Hey, like the new season-three tagline says: Friends don't let friends do friends!

The moving artwork features Nick and Jess giving each other quite the tension-laden look before Schmidt, Winston and Cece jump on top of the bed to interrupt the moment. We're expecting a lot of this in season three! And look how cozy Cece and Schmidt look? Does this mean he chooses her over Elizabeth (Merritt Wever)?!

While Nick and Jess will definitely be a couple in season three, there will still be obstacles in their way, namely Nick's tendency to be his own worst enemy.

"I think that Nick is who he is; he's the person that's always going to get in his own way," executive producer Brett Baer told us. "There is a streak of self-sabotage in him that's always going to be a part of his character and it will be interesting to see how he and Jess deal with that—and Jess has things to learn, too, from Nick. The two of them can continue to grow and develop together as they try to be in a relationship."

New Girl's third season premieres Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
