Hannibal is looking to add a little more Sex in season two.

Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon is set to join the second season of NBC's serial killer thriller when it returns at midseason, E! News has confirmed.

Nixon, who played Miranda Hobbes on the iconic HBO series, is set to take on the role of Jack Crawford's (Laurence Fishburne) new boss Kade Prurnell, an employee of the Office of the Inspector General in FBI Oversight. She'll come in to investigate all of the craziness that went down in the first season and Jack's role in said craziness.

Nixon's recurring Hannibal gig, which was first reported by TVLine, is just the latest TV appearance for the former SATC-er, who won an Emmy for her work as Carrie's (Sarah Jessica Parker) cynical yet supportive BFF. She appeared in 10 episodes of The Big C opposite Laura Linney, guest-starred as herself on 30 Rock and recently starred in the miniseries World Without End.

We recently caught up with Hannibal's creator Bryan Fuller at Comic-Con, where he dished on season two. "It's about Will and Hannibal finding a new dynamic between them and those characters exploring the loss of the friendship," he teased. "If the first season was the bromance, the second season is the nasty breakup!" Still, Hugh Dancy said fans can expect to see the two men interact quite a bit when the show returns. "There's a connection of some sort and Hannibal is certainly not stopping being interested in Will," Dancy revealed. "I think he's still just as interested as he was and clearly Will now has a powerful interest in Hannibal, albeit of a different type."

Hannibal's second season will premiere at midseason.

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
