Adele's added another accolade to her collection. Prince Charles bestowed the musician with the MBE medal—an honor reserved for exemplary British subjects—at Buckingham Palace on Thursday, Dec. 19. The 25-year-old "Skyfall" singer looked lovely in a patterned, long-sleeve Stella McCartney tea dress.

Prince Charles, 65, had a short chat with Adele before pinning the award for "services to music" on her dress and shaking her hand. MBE stands for Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.

Adele—famous for being press shy—did not stop to speak to the pool of reporters gathered inside.

Other honorees included author Joanne Harris, rocker P.J. Harvey, F1 driver Christian Horner, broadcaster Aled Jones and Paralympian Josie Pearson.

The late Margaret Thatcher's former private secretary, Edward Leigh, was also knighted.

This has been a banner year for Adele, who's taken an unofficial hiatus from music to spend time with her baby boy. In February, the singer won her ninth Grammy Award for Best Pop Solo Performance for "Set Fire to the Rain." Weeks later, she nabbed the Oscar for Best Original Song for "Skyfall."

As if that weren't enough, 21 was also recently named Amazon.com's best-selling album of all time.
