Philip Seymour Hoffman's final film has gotten a release date.

God's Pocket, the late actor's last movie in which he stars as the main character, will hit theaters on May 9 and will be available on video on demand May 14. (His appearance in The Hunger Games' Mockingjay sequels are yet to come as well.)

God's Pocket tells the story of a man named Mickey (Hoffman) who tries to cover up the accidental death of his crazy stepson Leon. However, Mickey finds himself in over his head when the boy's mother comes looking for answers.

The film, which was directed by Mad Men's John Slattery, also stars Christina Hendricks, Richard Jenkins and John Turturro.

God's Pocket was an official selection at the 2014 Sundance Film Festival.

News of the film's release date comes just over one month after Hoffman was found dead in his NYC apartment with a needle in his arm. During the discovery of his body, police found close to 50 packets of heroin inside the Oscar winner's apartment.

Last week, his cause of death was officially ruled an accidental overdose caused by acute mixed drug intoxication, including heroin, cocaine, benzodiazepines and amphetamines.

On Feb. 7, stars including Cate Blanchett, Michelle Williams, Ethan Hawke, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joaquin Phoenix, Mary-Louise Parker, Spike Lee and Justin Theroux paired respects to Hoffman during his funeral in NYC.
