Watch: JLaw's Advice for Shailene Woodley

Shailene Woodley is poised to become The Next Big Thing in Hollywood, so it only makes sense that the actress would seek advice from someone who's been there before. Enter Jennifer Lawrence, star of The Hunger Games franchise, who similarly and seamlessly transitioned from indies to blockbusters.

Before she agreed to play Tris Prior in Divergent, Woodley reached out to Lawrence to weigh the pros and cons of being the face of a franchise. Clearly, Lawrence is loving the limelight—she's also reprising her role as Mystique in X-Men: Days of Future Past this summer—and Woodley might soon love it, too.

The 22-year-old actress sat down with E! News correspondent Kristina Guerrero over the weekend, where she recalled the words of wisdom her Oscar-winning peer shared with her in the fall of 2012.

"I sent her an email—I had never met her—and I was like, 'Hey, Jen! I know you don't know who I am, but I have this opportunity and I was wondering how Hunger Games affected your life, if you were happy with your decision, etc.,'" Woodley said of writing to Lawrence, 23. "She was like, 'Listen, there are a few things that you should not do, like drugs and make a sex tape, or go to Whole Foods the day the movie opens, but it's gonna change your life in so many positive ways. Definitely do it.'"

That J.Law sure gives good advice!
