Halle Berry may not be new to motherhood, but this is a different experience.
The beautiful actress caught up with E! News' Kristina Guerrero during the junket for her upcoming film Frankie and Alice (in theaters April 4) and gave us an update on her baby boy Maceo, who was born in early October.
"Fantastic," Berry responded when asked how her little man has been doing, and confessed that having a son is "different" than raising a daughter. "The energy. Whoever says they're not different from the start, they've never had both."
Berry and Olivier Martinez welcomed their son on Saturday at Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. Maceo is Berry's second child and Martinez's first. Berry has 5-year-old daughter Nahla from her previous relationship with ex Gabriel Aubrey. "They chose it because it means gift from God," a source told E! News of their son's name. "Olivier wanted to give a nod to his Spanish roots. They picked the name a while ago, they love it."
Frankie and Alice tells the story of a '70s go-go dancer suffering from dissociative identity disorder. Frankie (Berry) is based on the true story of a Los Angeles-based exotic dancer who fought with two unique alter egos, one being a 7-year-old kid named Genius and the other a Southern white racist woman named Alice.
And the 47-year-old can't deny that being a mother changes the way she approaches her roles. "Being a mom—that started when I had my daughter six years ago—you do start to bring different levels to your performances because being a mom is so life-changing and transforming when you have that right of passage and so it would be very hard for me not to bring that to every single thing that I do and I love that," she tells us.
