Ellie Goulding killed it on stage during the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., last weekend. Believe it or not, the 27-year-old "Beating Heart" singer was actually under the weather.

"It was good, actually—really good," Goulding said on Wednesday's Chelsea Lately. "It went surprisingly well." According to the British pop singer, "I was really sick. I was in South America and I picked up something—my whole band did—so that was quite messy on the tour bus. I got a really weird bug. Coachella was sort of the end of it. But I held it together and nothing happened."

Goulding—who always performs barefoot—said it was better than England's Glastonbury Festival.

"I don't know if anyone's been to a festival in the U.K., but it's very, very, very different experience. Coachella is beautiful, sunny, it's beautiful people...but festivals in England are really messy, muddy. I've had to stop my set before because it's been too wet and you just can't perform, so that's great."
