Ruby Rose, an Australian model and DJ, recently released a video titled "Break Free," which she says is a reflection on her struggle with gender identity and presentation. The description below the video reads: "A short film about gender roles, Trans, and what it is like to have an identity that deviates from the status quo."

Rose's video definitely deviates from the status quo in a beautiful way. People are, for the most part, responding positively and the video has over 125,000 shares and 95,000 likes on Facebook, with over 250,000 views on YouTube. Rose wrote and produced the film herself and has spoken openly about LGBT issues on Facebook.

"Break Free" starts out with Rose dolled up. She can be seen donning a blonde wig, wearing a bandage dress and heels and done-up in full makeup.

The video continues as Rose happily chops off her hair, revealing her brunette undercut.

She proceeds to hop in the tub, scrub off her makeup and douse herself in water-revealing sleeve tattoos.

Rose tears off her fake eyelashes and ditches the nail polish. She wraps her breasts in Ace bandages (something she said she once did in the ‘90s but has since stopped because of the damage the bandages can cause).

She can then be seen wearing a strap-on with black skinny jeans, combat boots and a suit jacket.

At the end of the film, she smokes a cigarette, and her outfit is complete with a look of determination and defiance on her face.

Rose is definitely inspiring others, since cover videos have already popped up on the Internet. Despite the outpouring of support and admiration, many are quick to point out that the video does not represent everyone's journey. To that, Rose may not yet have a direct answer, but she does recognize the different paths everyone takes to get to where they want to be.

Ruby Rose, keep doing your thing and keep rockin' whatever you please. You are an inspiration to us all.
