Watch: Aviva Drescher Explains Why She Threw Her Leg

Aviva Drescher has some explaining to do. The Real Housewives of New York City cast member made her costars laugh, gasp, cry from laughing and walk away in disgust when she tossed her prosthetic leg in the season finale. She saw Teresa Giudice's table flip from Real Housewives of New Jersey and Shereè Whitfield's wig snatch from Real Housewives of Atlanta and upped the ante with her prosthetic limb.

So, why did she rip her leg off and throw it down on the table and ultimately at Heather Thomson? Aviva explains in the video above that she had heard the ladies were questioning her truthfulness and the status of her trip-preventing asthma.

"You can say whatever you want about me, but to question the veracity of my honesty is going to really piss me off. It's going to really bum me out. It's going take me to the edge," she told E! News. "Questioning my truthfulness set me off…I was being attacked by three shrews and they just wouldn't stop and I thought that maybe they would shut up if I threw my leg on the table. And they did."

But was it staged? Aviva showed up with her X-rays from her doctor and various medical records.

"100 percent contemplated and strategized," Heather said on Watch What Happens Live after the episode aired. "We're on reality TV. Let's keep the 'real' in reality. That's what I have to say."

However, Aviva maintains it was all in the heat of the moment. "Often when I sit at table, to keep the circulation going with my limb, I loosen it by pressing a button which releases the prosthesis…[Heather] was standing over me, yelling at me, calling me a fake and blah, blah, blah. It just gave me this knee-jerk reaction to take my leg and slam it on the table. It is what it is."
