Does Nick Viall Regret Revealing He "Made Love" With Andi Dorfman on The Bachelorette?

Andi's former suitor opens up about their emotional confrontation during the ABC hit franchise's "After the Final Rose" special

On The Bachelorette's super-dramatic After the Final Rose ceremony, emotional runner-up Nick Viall shared a bit too much about his time with Andi Dorfman, who accepted Josh Murray's proposal in the ABC hit's finale, revealing they had "made love." A shocked Andi called his comments "below the belt" and the audience was left stunned (but entertained). 

Looking back on their emotional confrontation, Nick admitted to reporters on a conference call that he wishes he would've handled the conversation differently, but said he never set out to "humiliate" Andi. 

"I definitely wish I had that opportunity to have that conversation with her in private. I did not go into last night expecting to ask her that. I was just so caught off guard by her demeanor," Nick explained. "It wasn't so much about the sex but the level of intimacy that night and given the situation at the time I made it very clear where I was in my feelings for her and what something like that meant to me. I was just so caught off guard that it sort of just came out. If I had any regrets, I didn't want to humiliate her or make her feel that way. I feel very sorry if she did feel that way."

After the Final Rose was the first time Nick has seen Andi since she had sent him home brokenhearted, but she revealed she did read the now-infamous letter the sales account executive from Chicago wrote to her, that was passed along by host Chris Harrison. The producers decided to post the letter in its entirety on the show's Facebook page, a move Nick isn't upset about.

"I was in no way ashamed of what was in the letter," Nick said. "I knew by giving it to her it was a possibility and I accepted that."

Aside from the letter, Nick also decided to show up at the Men Tell All taping, though the final two are not allowed to attend.

"I reached out to Harrison through my contacts. I just wanted to talk to him I wanted to respect the process and didn't want to reach out directly to her," Nick said of his decision to show up at MTA to talk to Andi. "But I really wanted to have the opportunity to speak to her directly. I had these real emotions and feelings about the situation and I wanted to tell them to her."

And though Nick said he's "on his way" to getting over Andi, he called the After the Final Rose conversation a "big step for me in terms of closure and I didn't really know if I would get any.

"I think last night was a lot of closure for me, just seeing her demeanor with me, I don't know where it came from," he continued. "I think for me it was a lot of closure. It doesn't eliminate any heartbreak, but it was good for me. I would say I have accepted her decision and am willing to move forward. She will always have a place in my heart and she is special person and what I had was special to me. I'm excited for things to come."

But that won't include becoming the next Bachelor, as Nick said, "Right now that isn't something I have really even thought about. I think anyone would be incredibly lucky to be asked...right now I'm just trying to move on with my life and find that person and I haven't given it any thought."
