It's no surprise that people were drawn to Robin Williams.

The funny, kind-hearted, talented and energetic actor was fondly praised by many famous faces who he would later call friends. Whether it was former co-stars, like Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Sarah Michelle Gellar and Mandy Moore, or just fellow thesps who looked up to Williams, the news of his death has hit Hollywood right in the heart.

Williams' pal Ben Stiller attempted to describe just how amazing Robin was and how missed he will be.

"A tweet cannot begin to describe the hugeness of Robin Williams heart and soul and talent. This is so sad. #RobinWilliams," the actor tweeted. "OK, I'll try. I met him when I was 13 and a huge fan and he was so kind and I watched him be kind to every fan i ever saw him with...And with other actors he was so generous and brilliant.

"He made everyone feel special and equal around him even though he was the genius...His heart was so big and even if you didn't know him, what he gave everyone was that same spirit in his work, so we all felt it…His impact on the world was so positive. He did so much good for people.

"He made me and so many people laugh so hard for a very long time. And because they don't really tweet, this message represents all the Stillers (Jerry, Anne and Amy) who Robin was a great friend to. xxxxx"

Steven Spielberg also released a statement on the tragedy: "Robin was a lightning storm of comic genius and our laughter was the thunder that sustained him. He was a pal and I can't believe he's gone."

The Academy Award winner was found dead at his home in Tiburon, Calif., this morning, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office Coroner Division.

"Robin Williams passed away this morning," his rep confirmed to E! News. "He has been battling severe depression of late. This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time."

An investigation is underway into the cause, manner and circumstances of his death, but the Coroner Division suspects the death may have been suicide due to asphyxia. An autopsy will be performed Tuesday.
