The Ice Bucket Challenge has officially taken a presidential turn.

After being nominated by a number of people, including daughter Jenna Bush Hager, former President George W. Bush accepted—and successfully completed—the viral ice bucket challenge in order to promote awareness and raise money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

"To you all who challenged me, I do not think it's presidential for me to be splashed with ice water, so I'm simply going to write you a check," he says, taking a cue from President Barack Obama—although wife Laura Bush had a better idea.

As the 43rd president of the United States begins to write the check, the former first lady sneaks up behind him and douses her hubby with a bucket of freezing cold H2O. Sneaky!

"That check is for me," she says with a mischievous smile. "I don't want to ruin my hairstyle."

So who did the commander in chief choose to nominate? None other than Bill Clinton, of course!

"And now it's my privilege to challenge Bill Clinton to the ALS challenge," he says. "Yesterday was Bill's birthday and my gift to Bill is a bucket of cold water."

While the 42nd prez has yet to respond to Bush's B-day gift, the 68-year-old politician is the latest famous face to join a slew of celebs, including Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, David Beckham, Lady Gaga, Ben Affleck, Emma Stone and more, who have all completed the much buzzed-about challenge.

Most recently, Tom Cruise opted to jump on the viral bandwagon after being challenged by pal Hugh Jackman. Not only did the actor and Mission: Impossible 5 director Chris McQuarrie make donations on behalf of the flick's cast and crew, but they were also doused with eight buckets of water.

To date, the ALS Association has received $31.5 million in donations.
