Ariana Grande feels that "a lot can change" between the ages of 19 and 21. And she is absolutely right!

A year after scoring a performance slot during the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show, the 21-year-old platinum-selling artist has been tapped to open the whole thing this Sunday.

"To go from performing on the pre-show last year to opening the VMAs this year is utterly insane—and just too crazy to process," Grande, who was sporting sparkly cat ears for our sit-down, told E! News yesterday. "And I feel like I won't actually process it until after it happens, and then I'll process it as I'm watching it, and then I'll be l like…[whoa] OK, that happened."

Grande will be performing "Break Free," off of her latest album, My Everything, which drops Aug. 24. She will also be teaming with Jessie J and Nicki Minaj on their hit "Bang Bang" during the show.

Also a must-listen off of My Everything? The ballad that Harry Styles co-wrote for her, of course! Grande told us that she "loves" the song, "A Little Bit of Your Heart," calling it "really beautiful."

"I think people know Harry, of course, first and foremost as a singer, but I think they'll be very impressed whent hey hear his writing skills," she teased.

The One Direction heartthrob penned the tune with Johan Carlsson--but how does such an awesome thing come about? Watch the clip here to hear Ariana tell the whole story!
