Simpsons get in on the latest craze to raise awareness and money for ALS

The ALS ice bucket challenged has reached new heights: Homer Simpson has taken part in the viral charity sensation.

The Simpsons posted a video of a shirtless Homer Simpson challenging his neigh Ned Flanders (twice), his pal Lenny and Donald Trump to do the ALS ice bucket challenge. Homer then dumps a glass of cold water on himself…but it doesn't end there. Enter Bart, a helicopter and everything you associate with ice and the cold.

Hey, it's all for charity.

The Simpsons returns for its 26th season on Fox in September and FXX has been running a 12-day marathon of every episode produced so far since Thursday, Aug. 21. The record-breaking marathon includes 552 episodes of The Simpsonsand the feature film.

In the season 26 premiere a resident of Springfield dies, Krusty retires after he's offended by a cable channel roast of him and Lisa tries to protect Homer. Guest stars this season include Nick Offerman, Jane Fonda, Willem Dafoe and the cast of Futurama.

The Simpsons season 26 premieres Sunday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
