Although Angelina Jolie's late mother Marcheline Bertrand wasn't there see her daughter marry Brad Pitt during their intimate wedding ceremony last week, the 39-year-old Oscar winner had her mom there in spirit.

Prior to their nuptials, Pitt had a special personalized message in honor of Marcheline inscribed inside the chapel at their home Château Miraval in France.

"Brad had a dedication to Marcheline engraved inside the chapel where we stood," Jolie tells People.

But the personal dedication wasn't the only thing the couple did to honor her late mother. Jolie and her brother, James Haven, also wore pieces of jewelry that belonged to Marcheline, who died in 2007 after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

"I also wore a little flower ring that was hers, and Jamie wore an angel pin from her jewelry box," she explained.

As E! News previously reported, Jolie also accessorized her custom Versace wedding dress by wearing "a small gold locket with a photo of her mom inside it."

Meanwhile, Jolie's dress and silk veil featured "embroidered drawings" from her six kids, Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 9, Shiloh, 8, and twins Knox and Vivennne, 6. Some of the drawings include flowers and different animals.
