Acting alongside Chris Hemsworth in Thor was cool and all, but is there anything that tops sharing the screen with a colossal gorilla?
We'll have to ask Tom Hiddleston! The 33-year-old Avengers star is set to star in a new King Kong movie called Skull Island! Per Legendary, the production company behind the flick, Skull Island will look into the cinematic origins of the feared ape, particularly the island he comes from.
This is the follow-up film to the 2005 movie King Kong, which was directed by Peter Jackson. Legendary debuted a teaser trailer at San Diego's Comic Con in July. In it, viewers got a glimpse of the eerie placed that birthed King Kong—and there were dinosaurs, monstrous urchins and giant arachnids. Naturally, a certain revered ape had to fight them off on his own quest for survival.
Producers are aiming for a Nov. 4, 2016 release, according to multiple reports. This won't be the only project Hiddleston will be working on in the near future, though! The endearing British star is in three movies set for a 2015 release: The Guillermo del Toro-directed horror flick Crimson Peak, the '70s class movie High-Rise, and of, course, Hank Williams biopic I Saw the Light.
That Loki is in high demand!
