Has there ever been a TV character with a better lineup of love interests than Rory Gilmore?

First, she had the dream first boyfriend in Dean (Jared Padalecki), the bag boy-next-door whose hobbies included building Rory a car and loving to love her. Then she got her bad boy version of Jordan Catalano (complete with reading skills) fix in with Jess (Milo Ventimiglia). And she followed that up with Logan (Matt Czuchry), the rich smartass with a devious smile and penchant for adventure.

And yet, as Gilmore Girls disciples who have indulged in many wine-fueled debates over Rory's love life in our day, have finally decided who Rory should've ended up with at the end of the series. And it's not Dean, Jess or Logan.

It's Marty (Wayne Wilcox).

Yes, as the entire series hits Netflix today, we've finally reached the conclusion that Marty, Rory's adorkable-before-it-was-cool-to-be-adorkable friend at Yale who was clearly in love with our oblivious heroine, was the perfect guy for her.

He was shy. He was sweet. He was basically a more grown-up version of Dean. So naturally, they never even dated. And the writers eventually turned him into kind of a douche when he returned in season seven as Lucy's (Krysten Ritter) boyfriend who pretended not to know Rory. (But that wasn't his fault!) But come on, he was introduced in season four as the college co-ed "had an unfortunate experience with a keg and a party and a need to take [his] clothes off and fall asleep in a hallway." He ate breakfast with a group of his friends, dubbing them "the breakfast crew." (They were not an official club, you know?) They had a Marx Brothers weekend. He loved coffee. He loved scarves. He loved her knowing she loved Logan.

So no, "Naked Guy" didn't get the girl. But he did leave a lasting impression after making a pretty infamous first one. Behold below, Rory and Marty's first meeting. Bask in the awkwardness of "I'm on the floor. I have no clothes on. And you're a girl, so..." Meet-nakeds are so much more fun than meet-cutes, no? (And he SO kept the purple robe, right?)

We hate to play the "What If?" game, but we can't help but wonder what Rory's life would've looked like if she chose to be with Marty over Logan...

Outraged? Annoyed? We can take it. Head on down to the comments and tell us who you think Rory should've ended up with.
