All hail the new Queen!

Mary (Adelaide Kane) is taking to her position as France's new Queen in Reign's season two premiere quite nicely, even putting the former Queen Catherine (Megan Follows) in her place...and giving her orders.

In our exclusive sneak peek at the CW hit's sophomore return, airing Oct. 2, Mary puts the royal smackdown on Catherine, and, adding insult to injury, does it in front of Nostradamus (Rossif Sutherland). Oh snap!

Plus, we also find out who might be immune to the plague that is ravishing the country (and French Court!) in the exclusive sneak peek...

But it seems like Mary might find herself turning into her husband's mother.

"Mary's getting her little manipulation cap on," Kane teases of our Queen in season two. "Mary starts  taking on more of those manipulative, Catherine-esque elements...even without realizing it, she's becoming more and more like Catherine."

Still, Mary and Francis will try to hold on to their humanity during their rule, which may be seen as "weakness," Kane previews. "They have an idealistic vision of how they want to rule and it's quite unrealistic." Executive producer Laurie McCarthy adds, "They are young rules and people sense vulnerability."

So maybe Catherine may be the least of Mary's concerns in season two. Shudders.

Reign returns Thursday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. on the CW.
