So this is how you get a starring role on Game of Thrones?!

Fans of the popular HBO series could have only imagined what Jason Momoa had to do during his audition to become the beastly Khal Drogo.

But according to a YouTube clip going viral on the Internet, we're learning the actor stuck out for all the right reasons.

In his audition tape, Momoa doesn't speak his character's native tongue, Dothraki. Instead, the actor performs the haka, a traditional dance associated with New Zealand's Maori people.

With his signature long hair, goatee and an outfit perfect for the show, it's totally clear why producers instantly fell in love.

Earlier this year, the actor confessed to AOL that he was originally given a Drogo scene to read out loud that consisted of the character repeating "no" over and over again. But after getting tips from an actor friend, Momoa clearly decided to switch things up.

Although Momoa lasted only one season, his creative thinking clearly payed off.

In addition to being one of the most beloved characters of the series, the 35-year-old has gone on to secure starring roles in major projects.

After securing a role in the well-regarded Sundance Channel series The Red Road, Momoa is now reportedly set to play Aquaman in Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice.

As long as he's back on the screen, we're happy!
