Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy may have called off their engagement, but these two celebs are far from bitter exes.

The newly single pair were spotted reuniting on Wednesday morning to grab some breakfast with their 3-year-old son Bingham Bellamy at Café Brentwood. An insider tells E! News that the Muse rocker has been staying with his former fiancée at her Los Angeles home since landing in Southern California on Monday.

The trio spent an hour having breakfast and "seemed normal, as if nothing was wrong. There were no signs of tension between them," the source tells us.

"They looked like any other family having a relaxed outing with their son. It was casual. They were happy. Matt opened the door for her and was being very courteous and polite. After the breakfast was over, they went back to Kate's house."

As evident in the photo, Matt and Kate matched in casual all-black outfits for the family outing, and Hudson was not wearing her diamond ring.

Bellamy was recently in London with his bandmates and also took to Twitter to thank fans for their support and reassure them that he and Hudson, 35, are "both very happy" after having called off their engagement. "It's for the best," he wrote. "Thanks for your kind words. Now about that new album..." (Bellamy told Rolling Stone last year the band was planning to release a new, stripped-down album sometime in 2015.)

After more than four years together as a Hollywood couple, the duo called off their romance with little to no warning. "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," Bellamy's rep told E! News. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."

And that clearly seems to be the case. Aside from their breakfast rendezvous, Hudson and Bellamy were all smiles as they walked the LACMA Art + Film Gala red carpet together last month, and the actress also confirmed to E! News at the time that Bellamy would be part of their family's Thanksgiving celebrations.
