It's no secret that Emily Blunt and husband John Krasinski are the most popular couple in Hollywood—and for good reason.

The down-to-Earth duo is a breath of fresh air in Tinseltown, and, in a new interview with The Edit, along with a gorgeous cover shoot in which she stuns in a belly-baring look, it's clear that the 31-year-old actress never takes herself too seriously.

"This can be an industry that thrills and tortures people at the same time," the British beauty says of acting, calling the tragic deaths of both Philip Seymour Hoffman and Robin Williams "such a loss." "And it depends on who you are as to what extreme that goes to."

For her part, Blunt has successfully navigated the difficult waters of Hollywood—she's been happily married to Krasinski since 2010 and the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Hazel, nearly one year ago in February.

Ten months after giving birth to her baby girl, Blunt looks better than ever (that crop top on the cover? Too die for.), and it's clear that her levelheaded approach to life is the same strategy she applies to parenting.

"[Raising children] is such a fear-based industry," she admits. "There used to be one book that everyone read, now there's How to Raise a Gluten-free Baby, How to Raise a Scientific Baby... It's insanity! So I haven't read anything, I'm just letting her do her own thing."

The Into the Woods star, who called her role as The Baker's Wife in the upcoming Rob Marshall directed musical "one of the most life-enhancing experiences," also shared that she discovered she was pregnant right before the movie began filming.

"It was a big week," Blunt says. "I waited 10 weeks, because the first trimester is so iffy and I just wanted to make sure the baby was okay before it became public. So two and a half weeks before rehearsals started, I called Rob and said, 'I have something to tell you...'"

Luckily, her pregnancy didn't have any impact on the role. "In a way the part was the only one in Hollywood I could still have done, because it didn't matter if I was a bit big – the baker's wife eats a lot of buns!" she quips. "But by the end of the shoot I was about seven months and hiding behind every tree in the woods."

As for how motherhood is treating the Devil Wears Prada star?

"She's nine months old but she understands," the actress gushed to E! News in November. "She sits on me, this little thing, and she understands turning a page already and going on a journey. I think that's amazing."
