Have you always wanted to know what goes on behind closed doors in the royal palace? Now for the first-time ever, One Tree Hill creator Mark Schwahn is taking viewers Behind the Palace Gates of The Royals in part two of the four part behind-the-scenes video series around his newest show which is centered around a fictional modern-day British monarchy.

Just because they're royalty doesn't mean they're always on their best behavior, and this latest behind-the-scenes offers a taste of the devious and exciting antics to come!

Elizabeth Hurley stars as Queen Helena, the family matriarch who loves her crown and won't let anything or anyone get in her way.

"This queen is very matriarchal," Hurley reveals in the above clip. "She has a lot of power and I think she knows how to use it."

"I tell her every day that this was the role that she was meant to play," Schwahn says of Hurley. "She has found her lot in life."

Vincent Regan plays the role of King Simon, Queen Helena's soft-spoken counterpart, who shocks his entire family when he announces that he is considering abolishing the monarchy!

"He's coping with a great deal of grief for the loss of his eldest son, Robert," Regan explains. "He's coping with that and trying to work out how the royal family can exist in the world they're now in."

Then there's the wildly unpredictable Princess Eleanor, played by Alexandra Park, who shines as Hurley's only daughter.

"There's a lot of colors to Eleanor," Park says. "She's young and trying to find where her place is in the world. She's a party girl."

In addition to their party girl daughter, the Royal family also has a playboy son, Prince Liam, who is played by William Moseley.

"He basically is sort of a rebel," Moseley says. "Doesn't really care what anybody thinks, does whatever he wants to do, when he wants to do it. Then he meets an American girl who lives in the palace and they have somewhat of a torrid relationship."

And that American girl is Ophelia, who is played by Merritt Patterson.

"Ophelia as a character would probably have the most relevance to our audience because Ophelia isn't royal," Schwahn explains. "She is going to learn along the way that as you swim with the sharks, that those are treacherous waters."

And the show wouldn't be complete without the evil uncle with hidden motives, which comes in the form of Prince Cyrus played by Jake Maskall!

"We have a very large ensemble," Schwahn adds. "And even when the days are formidable, which sometimes they are, we laugh our way through it and we enjoy the experience together and that's when it's fun. That's when it's really worthwhile."
