And best presenter of the year goes to…Prince!

The music icon--who just so happens to be an Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe winner—surprised audiences when he appeared onstage to present the winner for Best Original Song.

But before the nominees could even be announced, the entire crowd erupted in applause for the legendary singer.

Channing Tatum was caught whistling, Allison Janney was about to fall off her chair and we were just staring into those signature shades. Oh Prince, can't we party like it's 1999?

But as award shows go, a winner had to be announced and congratulations are definitely in order for John Legend and Common.

The duo won for "Glory," their musical collaboration for the movie Selma.

Unfortunately, we have a feeling people are going to be talking about Prince and all his sass in the days to come.

"Oh, my God!" Matt Bomer told E! News minutes after the award was handed out. "That was amazing. That was amazing."
