Julianne Moore made a mistake—and she's so very sorry!
The Still Alice star, 54, won the award for Best Actress at the Critics' Choice Movie Awards Thursday. During her acceptance speech, she gave shout-outs to her fellow nominees—but forgot to name one.
"One thing I know about myself for sure is that I am a girls' girl," Moore said. "I love talking to women, hanging out with women, acting with women, and one of things about being an actress, the hardest part is that you never get to act with other women—or very rarely, anyway. But that doesn't meant that I'm not watching and constantly inspired by everything they do. I am inspired by [Reese Witherspoon] and her walk through grief; and [Jennifer Aniston] and that extraordinary pain; and [Rosamund Pike] and her rage; and [Felicity Jones] and her endurance. I'm so inspired by you all and just honored to be in your company. I'd also like to thank all the women that I spoke to who are living with Alzheimer's disease. They are truly, truly amazing. I want to thank them for their time and their generosity and sharing their experience. I really hope that I did you justice. And I want to givc a special shout-out to my friend Sandy Oltz, my redheaded sister, who ahs been living with Alzheimer's for the last three years."
"Thank you very much," Moore concluded.
After leaving the stage, Moore realized she didn't praise Marion Cotillard and made amends via Twitter. "i forgot to mention #MarionCotillard in my speech tonight and i am mortified," she said of Cotillard, who is also an Academy Award nominee. "she is exquisite in everything + especially in #2days1night."
Awards season is far from over, of course. Moore is up against Aniston, Jones, Pike and Witherspoon in the Outstanding Female Actor in a Leading Role category at the 21st Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, which will be simulcast on TBS and TNT on Jan. 25. She is also in the running for Best Actress at the 87th Annual Academy Awards, airing Feb. 22 on ABC. Cotillard, Jones, Pike and Witherspoon are also nominees.
