Happy birthday, Ellen DeGeneres!

Vice President Joe Biden helped the comedian kick off her b-day week with a surprise visit to her talk show. He even brought Ellen, who turns 57 Monday, a thoughtful gift: A bathrobe from the White House!

"You talked about watching the State of The Union and watching me stand up. Now, next year when you watch it, I want you to be able to be comfortable." he said. "I brought you a bathrobe with the White House Seal on it. A gift to Ellen from Joe, so you're comfortable."

Thoughtful, right?! He also brought a little something for Ellen's mom, Betty. "My mom used to have an expression—she said, 'Joey, on a child's birthday the mother should get the gift because she did all the work,'" he explained. "So, this is for your mom!"

Of course, Joe didn't just drop by to shower the DeGeneres gals with gifts—he came to talk about the Affordable Care Act and the importance of everyone, grown children included, having health insurance. "I want every mom out there to tell their adult child between the ages of 26 and 35 sign up, for no other reason than give mom peace of mind," he said. "This is changing the way people are able to live and their peace of mind so please get people to sign [up]."

The deadline is Feb. 15—just after Valentine's Day! Speaking of which, Joe said he and wife Jill Biden have "a lot" planned for the holiday. He also revealed why Jill thinks his support of Barack Obama makes him an honorary member of the "Good Wife's Club." Watch the clip above to find out what the vice president means by this!
