That seems to be what Mandy Moore did after announcing her split from husband Ryan Adams. The actress sought some retail therapy with gal-pal Minka Kelly Saturday, sporting a cute ensemble and a bare hand. She seemed to be in good spirits as she and Kelly shopped.
E! News confirmed the news that the low-key couple was quietly splitting after almost six years together.
"Mandy Moore and Ryan Adams have mutually decided to end their marriage of almost 6 years," reps for the duo said in a joint statement. "It is a respectful, amicable parting of ways and both Mandy and Ryan are asking for media to respect their privacy at this time."
The 30-year-old actress and Adams, 40, do not have any children together. She previously told E! News that she and her hubby were collaborating on new music together. At the time she said "life" was inspiring her sound, so we'll have to wait and see what effect (if any) the split has on her project.
The couple has notoriously remained mum about their relationship, with Adams famously hanging up on a phone interview with an Australian radio show when pressed to answer questions about his Princess Diaries-acting wife.
"I just don't share at all about my personal life," he said before abruptly hanging up the phone. He later explained to Buzzfeed why he got so angry at the show.
"I was really nice about it the first time, and I'm sorry, but I won't repeat myself," he said. "The deal is this: I'm a private person and I'll be a gentleman and say I'm not talking about my marriage ever," Adams said. "I'll never talk about it. Ever."
