The are-they-or-aren't-they questions surrounding Selena Gomez and Zedd's status continue, but we do know one thing—the brunette beauty is happy.

When asked about Gomez and her rumored EDM boyfriend, a source close to the singer tells E! News, "Everything is going great with him. She is really happy and they are having fun."

The pair have been spending a lot of time collaborating on a song together, but fans started to speculate whether something romantic was brewing between the duo when the twosome began to enjoy each other's company outside of the studio. Selena and Zedd started to post a lot of photos together (some of which included a little PDA) and even attended star-studded events, like Golden Globe after-parties, side by side.

So what do Selena's friends think of the new guy in her life?

"Selena's friends are a little bit wary while remaining hopeful," the source tells us, and added that her pals are questioning where this is headed, "but ultimately right now he is making Selena happy and he is not Justin [Bieber] so that's a good thing."

Zedd even ventured out to Atlanta for the weekend to join Gomez as she prepared to start shooting her upcoming film The Fundamentals of Caregiving.

Selena had her first day on set yesterday and continued filming today alongside her co-stars Paul Rudd and Craig Roberts. "She started her day early, but was in a really great mood. Selena was filming a scene today in which she was hitchhiking at a rest stop. Paul Rudd was inside the restaurant and came out to talk to Selena's character," an eyewitness tells E! News.

"At one point, Selena walked off set and interacted with her fans. There are about 16 young girls there, Selena was nice to each person. She took photos and said hi to them. She was really sweet."
