We already know that Perry's 12-minute performance will include lots of color, soul and the hotness of Lenny Kravitz, but during her NFL press conference today Perry confirmed to our very own Alicia Quarles that there will be an additional guest on stage. She also offered up a few hints as to who we could expect.
"This is true. I have to keep some surprises for Sunday and I'm very, very excited about this guest because I thought long and hard about it and wanted to kinda bring someone back, like a throwback of sorts, that definitely needed some more shine," she told reporters. "All I can say is it will be a real female-fun night."
Yep, the wheels already started turning.
She added, "It's a bit old school. But I think when this person enters the stage and you hear the first ring of the chord, I think jaws will drop and faces will melt. There will be faces melting when she steps on the stage."
OK, so we know it's someone kinda old school who could use a little more shine. We know it's a female. We know it's a voice we would instantly recognize. Hmm...Diana Ross? Mary J. Blige? Cyndi Lauper? (Imagine if they did a duet of "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"?!). The possibilites are endless!
Quarles also asked if Katy has her eye on a specific NFL cutie this weekend, and the celeb responded in the most perfect way ever: "I'm just here so I don't get fined."
LOL! Katy was clearly mocking pro player Marshawn Lynch's now-epic one-liner, while also playing coy on who it may be.
Touché, Katy. Touché.
