It's been more than two years since Rihanna released an album—her last LP, Unapologetic, hit airwaves in 2012—but, rest assured, the Barbadian beauty is slowing creeping back into the spotlight.

Over the weekend, she shocked fans by debuting her new single, "Four Five Seconds" and she's preparing for the release of her forthcoming album, which, thus far, has remained a top secret project.

In celebration of her upcoming record, the 26-year-old pop star covers i-D magazine's Music Issue, appearing effortlessly edgy as she rocks box braids and flashes a sultry stare in the image shot by Paolo Roversi.

Although the cover is undoubtedly eye-catching, we can't help but notice the musician is seemingly channeling another up-and-coming R&B artist: FKA Twigs

See the similarities?!

Between the braids, their rocker-chic style and their bad-ass gaze, these two are practically the spitting image of each other with this look.

No word yet if Robert Pattinson's girlfriend has gotten wind of RiRi's cover but we doubt she'd mind the comparisons...

Meanwhile, Rihanna, whose Instagram game is back on point after a lengthy hiatus from the photo-sharing site, also posted a number of images from the cover shoot on her page.

In typical badgalriri fashion, the hitmaker is topless in both additional pics, in which she's also sporting a septum ring with her braids tied up into tiny buns.

As for when we can finally except more new music from Rihanna?

"Tell them they'll have to wait," she recently told E! News, teasing her loyal fans. "I'm in the studio right now with a killer team and I'm excited about what we're doing."

Can't come soon enough!
