Instead, the Oscar-winning actress was trying to stay warm in the middle of a snowstorm in Boston, where she's been hard at work filming David O. Russell's Joy.
J.Law was seen making her way into a chauffeured vehicle early Monday morning in a puffer winter coat while holding her little pup, Pippi.
Just this past summer, it was announced that Lawrence would be teaming up with Russell yet again for the rag-to-riches tale about the Miracle Mop inventor.
J.Law first opened up about starring as the lead role, Joy Mangano, during an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael.
"He recently texted me at, I think, 4 in the morning, and was like, 'I think I want to make a movie about the woman who invented the [Miracle] Mop. You want to do it?' And I was like, yeah," Lawrence shared with the audience at the time.
"I could just imagine David looking at somebody mopping and being like, 'Yeah, that's my next screenplay.'"
Considering the award-winning power these two have had in the past, it looks like Joy has all the makings of a strong contender for next year's awards season, right?!
