Congratulations, Leonor Varela!
The 42-year-old former Dallas star and producer Lucas Akoskin just welcomed daughter Luna Mae, Leonor confirmed Thursday. The Chilean-born actress Instagrammed a photo of herself cradling her newborn baby girl, writing, "Feeling so so blessed this angel just landed in our arms."
Leonor and Lucas are also the proud parents of a 2-year-old boy named Matteo. Mom was more than ready for his little sister to arrive, too! On Tuesday, in fact, she Instagrammed a shot of herself at 40 weeks and 4 days, writing, "What have I not done to try and get her to come out!"
"Walk walk walk," she wrote, "and then hopefully something will happen right??"
Clearly, it did, and from the looks of that first mother-daughter photo, labor and delivery of little Luna Mae went A-OK! And luckily for Luna, her birthday's not too close to any major holiday. Mom's on the other hand is Dec. 29—just four days after Christmas! Back in 2010, she told Cinesnob.net that it "wasn't great" having her B-Ddy so close to Christmas, but because her parents "didn't bring us up in that type of consumer culture," she wasn't too fixated on the presents she got.
"The big gift is not what's important," she said. "You can celebrate with humble means. I see that a lot here in my country."
She also recalled being given something that was inexpensive but incredibly meaningful. "When we left Chile, we left with very little. I remember my dad made me a rag doll out of socks and buttons," she said. "It was a monkey. I loved that thing so much. It was a gift that was very dear to me."
Sounds like this mama learned from the best and will show her cute kiddos what really matters, too.
