You have to be careful dating a co-worker—just ask Penn Badgley and Blake Lively!

The Gossip Girl stars dated and broke up both onscreen and offscreen during their time on the show, but their real love lives didn't always match up with their characters'. This, as you can imagine, led to some awkwardness, which is probably why Penn described his ex-girlfriend as his best and worst onscreen kiss!

"I'll say Blake [was the best onscreen kiss] because we actually had a relationship at the time," the 28-year-old Cymbeline star told Bravo's Andy Cohen on Wednesday's Watch What Happens Live. "And worst? Maybe Blake after we broke up."

Penn noted that he and Blake were "actually consummately professional, to be honest," in the wake of their 2010 split. "I think we should both pat ourselves on the back for getting through it—because, you know, anything is complicated in that way, and we handled it."

Just a few weeks before Gossip Girl finished filming in 2012, Blake and her Green Lantern co-star Ryan Reynolds said "I do" in a secret wedding. Penn, who was dating Zoë Kravitz at the time, told E! News he was "happy" for his ex, adding sweetly, "That's great."

Another lady from Penn's past came up on Watch What Happens Live: Amanda Bynes! A fan wanted to know which version of the former child star (who was never involved with Penn romantically) the actor had "more fun with on set: What I Like About You Amanda [the show ran from 2002 to 2006, but Penn's role was in 2002] or Easy A Amanda [2010]." His answer? The latter! "Because we didn't work together in Easy A," he explained. "I don't think we were onscreen together, if I remember correctly. So we barely interacted."

"What I Like About You is when we first met," he said, "and we were friends—very close friends."

So is Penn still in touch with Amanda today? Watch the clip above to find out.
