We imagine more than a few people got whiplash from this sighting as well!

Nina Dobrev was spotted kissing actor Austin Stowell last night during an event at The Improv in West Hollywood, fueling rumors that the Vampire Diaries star may be in her first relationship (that's gone public, anyway) since she and Ian Somerhalder broke up in 2013.

A source tells E! News that, while Dobrev didn't walk the red carpet, she and Stowell arrived together to the Hallmark Shoebox relaunch and 29th-birthday celebration, and she and the Whiplash actor looked very comfortable and happy together.

They attended with a group of pals and spent a lot of time together at the Hallmark card station laughing and scooping up some of the witty offerings on display to take with them, according to our source. Moreover, we're told that Dobrev was overheard talking about how she's really enjoying the L.A. life after relocating from Atlanta, where The Vampire Diaries is filmed.

Dobrev left the show this year after six seasons to much emotional hullabaloo.

The 26-year-old star laughed off speculation that working with ex-boyfriend Somerhalder, who married Nikki Reed in April, had anything to do with her decision.

"I've said this before, that we didn't break up because anything bad happened or because there wasn't love or friendship," Dobrev told E! News last month. "I love him and the friendship is still strong and I think he's great and I care about him. And that didn't change. Yes, we're professional and that's fine. We were friends long before we dated and we still are now."

But about last night...

Her good pal Rob Riggle served as emcee of the Hallmark bash, presiding over a lineup that included comedians Neal Brennan, Heather McDonald and Loni Love.

Stowell and Dobrev were sitting side by side at a dinner party with her Kind Campaign pals a couple of weeks ago as well.

And while fans of Stowell and that impressive jaw line of his may know him best from Whiplash, he's up next on the big screen with Tom Hanks in the Steven Spielberg-directed Bridge of Spies, and stars in TNT's upcoming 1960s-set cop drama Public Morals.

So...plenty to choose from to get your Stowell fix! And, of course, maybe he'll be making more feature appearances on Nina Dobrev's Instagram in the near future.
