It's over. The gauntlet has been thrown down, picked up again, chucked across a football and it landed somewhere it can never be found again. The battle has ended. The war has been won. Everyone can just go home now.

When the cast of Marvel's Agent Carter decided to record a fun Dubsmash over the weekend while down in San Diego for Comic-Con, they had no idea just what they were starting. Hayley Atwell, who plays the kickass Peggy Carter on ABC's period superhero series, and James D'Arcy, who plays her erstwhile sidekick Jarvis (yes, that Jarvis), made a hilarious lip-synching video for fun and posted it to social media, igniting what would eventually become an all-out war between Agent Carter and its parent series Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

And as the casts of the two TV shows recorded video after video, the battle became intense and each video became more outrageous than the next...until Captain America (Chris Evans) showed up to drop the mic and end it definitively. But we're getting ahead of ourselves.

First check out the cute-but-random video that started it all:

Then, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Clark Gregg and Chloe Bennet followed up with this video, making it an official-but-friendly battle between Marvel's two shows:

And Atwell and D'Arcy answered their call with this hilarious video:

Ummmmmm D'Arcy's face?! We can't get over it. His dedication to this war is just downright impressive. Exhibit B:

Exhibit C:

But then the entire cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. teamed up to make this video, ending the battle for good...or so we thought at the time:

Consider the mic DROPPED. @realhayleyatwell #dubsmashwar2015 @clarkgregg

Even D'Arcy thought Agent Carter lost thanks to Gregg's Peggy Carter impersonation! Check out the behind-the-scenes video Brett Dalton posted of D'Arcy's reaction to their amazing Dubsmash:

But it's not over until it's really over. Never count an SSR agent out! Atwell tweeted that all was not lost for Peggy Carter just yet:

Because Captain America is throwing his star-spangled shield into the ring, and he's firmly on Peggy's team. Did you ever doubt it?!

Boom. And that's how you win a battle between the deadliest agents in the world. If this is what a friendly war looks like between the good guys, we'd hate to be Hydra right now.

AND THEN. YOU GUYS. Atwell posted another Dubsmash to celebrate Agent Carter's win:

CAPTAIN AMERICA AND PEGGY CARTER. REUNITED AT LAST. MAKING OUT. WHAT DID WE JUST WATCH?!?
