Just when his concerts couldn't get any more romantic, the "Thinking Out Loud" crooner helped pull off a special surprise Saturday night at Manchester Arena.
While performing one of his biggest hits, Sheeran invited Jake Roche onstage with his girlfriend Jesy Nelson. What came next was a proposal thousands of ladies could only dream of.
"A year ago today I met her at Manchester Arena, so it was only right, with a little help from my friend, that this happened," the 22-year-old wrote on Instagram while proposing on one knee. "Best day of my life."
He added, "Travelled 5 hours to sing our favorite song on his day off. I will never ever be able to repay you. Love you pal. @edsheeran."
Not to be outdone, Nelson was more than pleased with how everything went down. And yes, she was the first to admit that tears were unavoidable.
"I cannot believe what has just happened! The most surreal moment of my life and everyone that I love most was there to share it with us!" the 24-year-old wrote. "I feel like the luckiest girl in the world rite now."
She continued, "Literally cannot stop crying! Future Mrs. Roche."
Roche and his band called Rixton are known for their hit single "Me and My Broken Heart." Nelson's girl group Little Mix was originally formed on The X-Factor U.K. Zayn Malik's fiancée Perrie Edwards is also a member of the successful band.
