Kim Zolciak is one of the many celebrities who has taken a liking to waist training in order to slim down her body…but did it actually end up leading to some serious health problems?

In a new, lengthy Instagram post, the reality star answers speculation about what might have caused her Transient Ischemic Attack (or "mini stroke") last month, promising it had nothing to do with her waist cinching tool.

Zolciak shared a picture Thursday morning wearing her purple waist trainer with a mini skirt and a pair of sexy, lace up heels alongside an extensive caption that provides the real explanation behind her recent health scare.

Instagram

"Good morning!!!!" she began, "You guys know I love my @nowaistclique waist trainer, I have heard all sorts of ppl commenting on ‘what might have caused my mini stroke' let me be real clear, I am a very healthy woman who takes great care of myself, however I was born with PFO (a hole in my heart) which enabled a clot to cross over and stop oxygen to my brain for a very short time in turn causing me to have a TIA, I will be having heart surgery to repair it."

She continues, "By no means did my waist trainer cause my blood clot or my TIA. I would never use anything nor promote anything that I personally didn't love or something that was dangerous. I LOVE LIFE WAY TOO MUCH! and I have a whole lotta living to do. #KeepItTight #Hourglass #CommentRudeIBlockYou #HeartAwareness #THANKYOUFORALLYOURPRAYERS"

The Don't Be Tardy star explained more about the TIA when she sat down with E! News earlier this month.  She revealed a blood clot was able to travel to the other side of her heart due to an open valve that never closed when she was born. The passage stopped oxygen to the right side of her brain, which inevitably caused the mini-stroke.

Though her waist training technique had nothing to do with it, her constant air travel back and forth between home and Dancing With the Stars could definitely have played a big role.

For now, she can't pay attention to people making silly speculations, but rather focus on monitoring her body and promoting awareness.

"It literally happened in a second and my whole life changed," she told us.
