Sam Smith is single and maybe ready to mingle.

Fans of the "Stay With Me" singer may be shocked to hear that the 23-year-old isn't in a romantic relationship. After all, that voice is pretty irresistible.

But while supporting his new single in the James Bond movie Spectre, Smith explained his mindset when it comes to dating in the public eye.

"I've never had a boyfriend so I don't really know any different, which I think is very lucky actually," he shared with E! News. "I'm still learning on what's right and what's normal in dates."

He continued, "I think with anyone, you have to learn how to trust people and there's different challenges and hurdles in my life now but I'm trying to remain as normal as I was before."

With several Grammys under his belt and a new song titled "Writing's on the Wall," it may be difficult to classify Smith as just a "normal" guy. But even with all his success, Smith's views on relationships may ring true for many of his fans.

When asked if he is ready for a new romance, Smith stated that he simply doesn't know.

"Is anyone ready for a relationship? Who knows," he shared. "I've been single for 23 years so I don't know. It's going to take something."

Until that special someone comes, Smith is celebrating his latest single that will appear on the big screen beginning Nov. 6. It's an opportunity he certainly didn't take lightly.

"This is one of the highlights of my career," he shared in a statement when the news was first announced. "I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it."
