Watch: Amy Schumer Says Jennifer Lawrence Is a "Great Writer"

Sounds like everything is coming along quite nicely with the movie that Amy Schumer and Jennifer Lawrence are writing together.

"Jennifer is a great writer," Schumer told me last night at the Hollywood Film Awards. "She doesn't play buy the rules. She can be out there in a really cool way where you thought that you understood a scene and then she'll just kind of turn it. She's great."

The Silver Linings Playbook star revealed in August to The New York Times that the two were working a script together. They've been tight-lipped on details, only spilling that they'll be playing sisters.

Not sure how much work they'll be getting done in the next few weeks because Lawrence is about to begin a worldwide tour for the release of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. The world premiere takes place in Berlin on Wednesday.

"I love those movies," Schumer said of the Katniss franchise. "My sister and I always go at midnight, night of release."

The final installment of The Hunger Games series is in theaters Nov. 20.

Schumer was honored at the Hollywood Film Awards with the Hollywood Comedy Award for Trainwreck.

As we previously reported, Selena Gomez presented her with the award.

"I talk about her obsessively," Gomez said. "I've tweeted her often. I try to impersonate her and it doesn't really work. I actually just met her so basically what I'm saying is I'm really happy that clearly Jennifer Lawrence wasn't able to do this tonight because I love you."

Schumer assured the "Revival" singer, " "I didn't even ask Jen—Selena, you were my first choice."
