With the release today of their new album, Made in the A.M., we're in a really great One Direction place right now.
It's been easy enough to be in denial that our favorite British boy band is taking a year off to unwind from the craziness that goes along with being an international pop sensation, but now we're having to face facts—especially now that we're hearing there might be two Directionless years ahead!
You're killing us softly, boys.
Thank you so so much to @onedirection for that stunning Live Lounge! The videos will be asap! #1DR1LiveLounge pic.twitter.com/21YqlfhqnE

Liam Payne accidentally spilled some game changing information during a BBC Radio 1 Interview that has 1Directioners going crazy.
"We haven't really had time to write an album and whereas two years of…"
Sorry, what now?
"Writing's not really a job," he continued, "it's so much fun, we've always had to rush it. So it's nice in these two years I'm going to write some songs and see what happens."
Two. Years.
Maybe this was just a rough (on our hearts) estimate, or maybe Liam just revealed a secret the boys had yet to share.
With all the nostalgia thinking about when our favorite heartthrobs were just starting out on The X Factor, we can't help but wonder: What will they be up to during their break?
During the same interview, the lads insisted they aren't splitting up officially—just taking some time to focus on solo projects. Louis Tomlinson, who's been guest-judging on X Factor, says he'll be working on his own record label but will be collaborating with his mates on songwriting.
"We'll probably team up and do a bit of writing together," says the 23-year-old father-to-be. "I'm going to take over the world of music and Niall's becoming a golf pro," he continued jokingly.
Way to keep the subject light while we're in need of some tissues and 1D throwbacks.
While we're not sure where the band is headed as a whole or how long their hiatus will last, all we can do is listen to Made in the A.M. on repeat and think back to all the glorious hits that have come before.
