Ryan Gosling was joined by a fellow famous Canadian and brought the laughs on NBC's Saturday Night Live...including his own.

The 35-year-old actor hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time on Saturday. He performed several skits, during which he could barely contain his laughter. He also showed off his singing skills and dance moves. The musical guest was Leon Bridges, who performed "The River" and "Smooth Sailin'."

Fellow Canadian and SNL alum Mike Myers, 52, joined Gosling for his monologue. The result? Sha-wing!

Myers rattled off several great things about their homeland, such as their hot new prime minister, Justin TrudeauDegrassi Junior High (a cult '80s and '90s pre-Drake drama series in which Emma from his show Degrassi: The Next Generation was conceived in a teen pregnancy) and "Sir Justin Bieber."

And in the spirit of the holiday season, the two later sang a Canadian Christmas song.

Check out more highlights from Gosling's episode.

1. Close Encounters

Gosling couldn't contain his laughter during this skit, in which he and cast members were interviewed about their alien abductions, prompting many of the cast members to struggled to maintain their composure as well.

"He's crying," Cecily Strong commented about Gosling.

2. Birthday Party

In another skit, he played a father of a teenage girl. He appears at her birthday party and one of her friends, played by Aidy Bryant, flirts with him. He nearly loses his composure when she says something extra inappropriate.

3. The Wiz

Gosling also showcased his dance moves in a sketch parodying NBC's recent live production of The Wiz, in which he played The Scarecrow.

4. Hometown Bar

He also danced in this sketch, in which he was interviewed at a bar. During the interview, his childhood bully returns to taunt him. The actor and two cast members danced to Cathy Dennis' 1990 pop song "Touch Me (All Night Long)."

5. Family Tribute

Before the closing credits, Gosling gave a sweet shout-out to his partner, Eva Mendes, 41, and their 1-year-old daughter, Esmeralda.
