This is not a drill, people: Davina died last week on The Originals, and it's up to her guardian Marcel to save her from the supernatural forces who want her to stay that way.

"He's in emergency mode," explains star Charles Michael Davis. "Trying to be calm but yet still trying to think and make decisions without having that time to really think them through. It's going to be great—we get to see how he handles the pressure."

After taking Davina in, Marcel is the closest the young, powerful witch has to family—so he's pulling out all the stops to try to save her.

"He's going to need to recruit some help. I think you saw from the promo she's dealing with the Ancestors, so he's going to need the help of some witches—at least one," Davis tells E! News. "We've got Kol, who has experience with spells but he's not a witch, and we've got Vincent and Freya. He's going to need to assemble a team real quick."

Because Davina is one of the people Marcel cares about most in this world, he's extra frantic. "It's definitely more raw and more visceral in trying to keep it under control because of the stakes," he says. "If you win, you get her back, if you lose, you really lose her."

He continues, "Of course, for him, that's really, really tough. An eternity without someone that you found and that you loved and you try to build this relationship with. I'm sure he wants to see her grow and become a woman and all that stuff, and it's like, okay, let's put all that aside and let's focus on the task at hand: one, getting help, and two, however you're going to do it, three, let's execute it and then four, wait and see if it works."

Right now, Marcel doesn't have time to think about blaming anyone for what happened—even though he could easily blame Davina, for bringing this catastrophe on herself, or Kol, for being the reason she's gone.

"He probably understands both sides," Davis says. "One, she is a teenager, the other side is this guy is a vampire and he's probably mad at himself and he could probably place blame, but the thing is none of it's going to help with the situation at the moment so he's probably going to put all those things aside. But we'll see, a lot of that—the regret, the doubt, maybe a little bit of self-loathing, and maybe the anger directed outwards—in the episode it'll be main goal get her back however possible."

The Originals airs Fridays at 9 p.m. on the CW.
