That was the big speculation earlier today when photos hit the web showing Twilight beauty Nikki Reed and her American Idol fiancé Paul McDonald doing just that.
So what gives? We've got the truth behind those mystery "wedding" rings...
"Nikki and Paul got rings a few weeks ago while in Washington, D.C., because Paul wanted to wear one while he's on tour and away from Nikki, as a way to feel close to her while they're apart," Reed's rep just told me. "They aren't married yet."
The two reportedly also have each other's names tattooed on the inside of their right ring fingers.
The couple has yet to announce a wedding date or any details surrounding the big day. McDonald popped the question in June after dating Reed for about two months.
